SWIOTUNA Strategic engagement with the Fisheries Transparency initiative (FITI)

<p>SWIOTUNA held a strategic meeting with the Regional Coordinator for Anglophone Africa of the Fisheries Transparency Initiative (FITI), Dr. Godfred Ameyaw Asiedu, at our Nairobi office. The meeting focused on the implementation of the FITI process in Kenya and ways to promote greater transparency and sustainability in the country&rsquo;s fisheries sector.</p>

<p>Present was the Chair of SWIOTUNA, Chair of the Indian Ocean Water Body Network, representatives from TUFAK, the Kenyan Oil and Gas Working Group, and the SWIOTUNA secretariat. We agreed on a number of actions among them to collaborate on advocating for the Kenyan government&#39;s commitment to FITI and aim to enhance transparency and sustainability in the fisheries sector.</p>
