Webinar on Assessing the Financial Flows within the South west Indian Ocean Blue economy.

On 19th February 2024, SWIOTUNA in collaboration with WWF held a webinar on Assessing the financial flows within the South west Indian Ocean Blue economy. The main of the purpose of the webinar was to share key findings on Blue economy financing in the SWIO region and raise awareness among stakeholders. The members were taken through WWF's Strategy for the SWIO Region, importance of the blue economy, Sustainable Blue Finance Principles, methodology of the study, key findings, recommendations and key actions for CSOs and other stakeholders.
The session gave an overview of the challenges and opportunities in financing a sustainable blue economy in the SWIO region, highlighted the importance of collaboration and advocacy to achieve long-term sustainability goals
