SWIOTUNA governing body consists of a seven member committee which is the executive committee headed by the chair. The current chair is Community Action for Nature Conservation (CANCO) and the other members are;
- Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)-South Africa
- The Forum of CSOs for Marine and Coastal Areas (FOSCAMC)-Mozambique
- Blue Ventures-Madagascar
- Nature Seychelles-Seychelles
- World Wide Fund for Nature
- AIDE-Comoros.
